In my more than 11 years in the lingerie industry, my greatest asset as an intimates marketer is my in-person bra fitting experience. I’ve fit thousands of women for bras, swimsuits, and undergarments. Each one has had a different need, size, shape, and comfort level. I could not have asked for a better learning opportunity about intimates brands, lingerie styles, bra fitting techniques, and the hearts and minds of women. I’ve used this knowledge to help brands in a few ways, and I’m looking to do even more! Some of my most favorite include:

  • For brands in the development stage:
    • Bra Fit Model casting calls
    • A fitter’s perspective on sizing and fit
    • Design consultation with a special emphasis on fit and referrals for great technical resources and talent
  • For brands with great products:
    • Events and Trunk shows
  • For TV, Film, Theatre Photo Shoots:
    • On camera bra fitting
    • Lingerie styling for things that will show on camera, including pulling from brands and fitting talent ahead of time
    • Working in tandem with a wardrobe stylist to find the perfect undergarment solutions for tricky costumes and wardrobe

Bra Fit Model Casting: When Etched, an emerging full bust bra brand, needed fit models, they were at a loss. Finding a model AND getting a trained bra fitter’s perspective for this important step in the development process is key for success. Here’s what I did for Etched:

  • Finding fit models for a full bust bra prototype from both modeling agencies and “real life”
  • Organizing the casting call, hiring assistants, and scheduling appointments
  • Creating a friendly, organized, and fun day to both cast models AND introduce these women to the brand
  • Fitting the models into comprable bras in the industry and comparing and documenting fit differences
  • Choosing the best models for the bra development and size grading process
  • Following up with models and arranging for future meetings
  • Providing a fitter’s point of view in the pattern and size grading process
